Founded in 1965, our firm celebrated its 57th year in business in 2022. Gould, Kobrick & Schlapp, P.C., is one of the few CPA firms licensed to practice in New York and New Jersey that specializes exclusively in providing audit, accounting, consulting, and related services to labor organizations and employee benefit plans. The firm has a single location at 192 Lexington Ave., New York, NY.
The Firm has one subsidiary, Kobgo Associates, Inc., which performs payroll compliance audits of contributing employers. The Firm is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Employee Benefit Plan Audit Quality Center (EBPAQC) and all of our principals and certified public accountants are members of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants and the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans (IFEBP).
As a small firm, our principals are directly involved in all aspects of every engagement. Since we exclusively serve the labor and employee benefit plan industries, our principals and professionals are well versed in the accounting, audit and regulatory aspects of these organizations. This, coupled with our commitment to meet all professional and educational requirements of both the AICPA and New York State Board of Accountancy, ensures our audit teams have unparalleled expertise to provide quality services.
As a member of the AICPA, our firm undergoes an independent peer review every three years and we have always received an unmodified report. Copies of these reports are available upon request.
Our principals have served on both the Committee of Labor Organizations and Welfare Funds and the Committee on Employees Profit Sharing and Benefits Funds of the New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants. They have also been speakers at seminars and conferences and have written and taught for the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans. The two principals of the Firm have a combined industry experience of over sixty years.
